Crow was eatin' my corn!! Not anymore!!

These crows are very wary down here I guess they've been shot at a few times for raidin' people's crops.

I finally got my crosshairs on one long enough to squeeze off a good shot. He was 183 yards away I lasered the range after the shot. There's not much left to hang up in the field but I guess enough to keep them out!

The .223 Encore is really doin' well for me. That's 13 for 13 shots from my deck on starlings and one crow! Oh yeah my portable shootin' bench is doin' a cracker jack job also!

That little 50 grain Sierra left one leg and one wing both hangin' by a thread. Hamburgered most of his body good thing I don't eat crow cause they wasn't enough left to fill my holler tooth!

Good shooting! The crows used to pick over my parents' vegetable garden. I took one down at 100yds with a Marlin 39D (.22LR) out of the kitchen window. Dad was drinking a cup of coffee, and darned near choked when the rifle went off! Probably the best hunting shot I've ever made. Well, Dad and I walked back, and he spread it out on the ground, wings outstretched by the garden, and the other's stayed away. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Huntinfool nice job on that danged ole crow. I hate the rascals. I have hated em since I was a kid and one came back to life in my huntin vest while I was leaned against a tree. I was just a little squirt and was taken him home to show momma. Needless to say he didnt make it to momma all he got was another blast of number 6s from my 20 gauge. Dern near pooped my pants.
Oh well one of them life lessons a feller never forgets.
Take care

His brother came around lookin' for him today! I'm afraid he is also takin' a dirt nap! LOL!

That little .223 is 17 for 17 so far!

Here's what it looks like off my deck.

Here's what I saw after the shot, the scope is set on about 18X.

Here's what I saw when I stepped up to the crow who was 185 yards away!

On a side note,
How do you like that Varmint Reticle?

I got one on my rifle the other day and when sighting it in on white targets, I got crossed up many times with the "extra crosshairs" and peripheral "black dots".

I know how to use the varmint reticle system, but I think it is best suited for exactly what you are using it for and completely miserable for shooting at little black and white grids and looking for the holes that you are making.

I am wondering if I shouldn't remove it now, since it is on a med range deer rifle which sees more range than 3-500yd shots. Though I plan on some of that eventually.
Great shooting/pics, and rig BTW!
