My suggestion is that you get it repaired. :)

I've known Tim McMurray for 40+ years. He's an expert on old Crosmans.

Never have tried it but you can purchase a kit to replace worn parts
I had an old 1960"s Crossman air rifle and I found a company in NC who rebuilt the unit. If I would have known you could get parts, I would have tried to do it myself. Do not remember the name of the company but it should be on the internet if they are still in business
Unless you are OC like me and just cant bear to not dig into an assembly, send it off to a pro, get it done, pay the bill and be happy ;)
Thank you all. This pistol was given to me as a birthday present by my father back in 1964. I've worn it out. Lost it in my "Basement of No Return", but just recently found it. It was packaged up to be sent off for repair back in Nov. 1988. I don't know why it wasn't sent off at that time.:)

That’s about the time that I got one. Eventually put new guts in it, though it wasn’t back to 100%, and got worse over time. When it was taken during a house burglary about ten years ago, along with its original Crosman holster, it wasn’t working at all.
I think the crook got a surprise when he later discovered what it was, as he did find evidence that I owned actual firearms.I’m sure in his haste, he thought he found a real handgun.
I’ve been tempted to buy a new version, but haven’t done so. For the small amount a new one is, it seems the way to go, but I get that reliving / reviving the past thing too.
You can go no line and find diagrams to rebuild the Crosman. Sometimes it may need more help. If the gaskets are cork. Hard to fix need to send it out. I do some rebuilding on the side, But It takes some time and $.
