A range buddy just upgraded his B14R bolt with the shroud and spring from Crossroads Precision Rifles CPR. Randy the owner of CPR has a couple of videos out there of his kit.

My buddies B14R bolt operation is significantly smoother/easier now. Trying out his bolt convinced me to order the kit from CPR.

Has anyone here used this kit from CPR, if yes what is your experience?

Yes, I bought the shroud and really like it. Wish it was cheaper, or that Bergara had designed a better one in the first place, but it is what it is. I didn't buy the lighter spring with it, didn't feel that it was necessary.

This is what it looks like on mine, I've since cerakoted the shroud matte black but don't have any recent photos.

I've eyeballed these but have heard mixed reviews on actual levels of improvement. I'm not sure anything is going to make my B14R cycle as smoothly as my CZ457's or Vudoo. It's not bad but... Maybe this is what i need for black Friday :) I wish the company had an actual website.

Yeah, my buddies shroud is SS like yours but I guess he is now making them from carbon steel and nitriding them. Probably the same cost at the end of the day but does match the action better in black.

Thanks for the information, I personally think that the spring may have more impact than the shroud but maybe I am missing something about the way the bolt works.

CPR's number is (361) 550-7033, just placed my order with Joel for the nitrided - that's what they have now - bolt shroud, comes with the lighter spring, $135.
Post a photo when you get it, I'm curious to see how the nitrided version looks. Definitely wish that had been available when I bought mine.

Well, doesn't look like $133, but maybe it will smooth out the old bolt, will know soon.

The more recent (how recent exactly I’m not sure) bolts will experience less improvement than the older ones, perhaps much less.
Having bought my B14 R ~3 months ago and knowing this didn’t stop me from buying this shroud, however 🤦‍♂️ ;)
At least I hope the install will be easy - the 2 Tikka aluminum bolt shrouds I bought a while back are still just sitting there, intimidating me 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

You wanna talk stratospheric markup? How about KRG in particular, but also MDT heavy accessories?:poop::poop:;)

Agreed. Granted there is some hidden engineering and machining time in the shroud but you just know that's a 89 cent spring at McMaster Carr if you specked the wire diameter and dimensions.
Indubitably, and I knew full well what I was getting well in advance of the purchase, as my range buddy has the kit installed. My company manufactures parts too, that we have designed and improved, so I know the cost of engineering and I am certainly not complaining about CPR prices. $0.89 from McMaster, LOL I didn't know they had anything under $1.00 anymore. I get your point though.

My B14R is over a year old, hopefully I see some improvement!

I have a KRG on my Kidd Classic, yes they certainly do make some $$ on little parts.
