I was pondering this as well after looking at mine tonight. I'm betting that part is in the receiver under very high pressure...I'm sure someone will figure out how to get it out, but I guarantee it won't be easy. Think of how hard it is to get some barrels out, and then imagine trying to do it with this small of a part. I thought about a dowell or metal rod with a washer and nut on the end, and try to tap it out, similar to a slide hammer concept.
