Anyone using one on your 10/22 Mag? What kind? Where did you get it,and how does it mount on the barrel? Also,does mounting on the barrel mar the bluing

I've got one on my Volquartsen .22WMR.
Mine came already installed, though...


I would imagine that if you screw the allen-head screw really tight, it could probably even scratch the steel in the barrel.

All I really noticed with my Volquartsen is that it is terribly LOUD!

If I had to do it all over again, I would not order the compensator.

Same here,

Mine is a Volquartsen barrel with the factory "comp".

Viper,

From your (the shooter)'s "point-of-view" it is louder, but!

If the comp wasn't "loud" it wouldn't be doing it's job.

It "re-directs" the muzzle blast, to minimize "barrel rise" and helps keep you on target for a follow-up shot, if needed.
