What is the best way to remove oil from lens?

a little bit of alcohol(not liquor hehe) on a cotton swab works well.

I have always found that preventative maintinance is the best method for cleaning lenses. By that I mean use scope caps when not using the scope and being careful to not get fingerprints on my scope lenses in the first place. Several companies make actual cleaning kits for this. Zeiss and Sworovski come to mind. Both go about 20 dollars and are supposed to work well.
