CCI Stingers and Bentz chamber

So what happens when these two things converge? Will they simply not chamber? Pressure issues? What?

The longer stinger cases may damage the rifling leads as the chamber is shorter . Its shorter so that the lead bullet will engage the leads and engrave , providing a more stable ride down the barrel and result in better accuracy. Jammig a nickel plated brass case rim into leads cut with
an abrupt angle might be a problem.

I’d like to know why anyone with a Bentz chamber would be wanting to use Stingers to begin with? They’re FAR from being a quality/accurate ammo. I wouldn’t be jamming ammo into my chamber like that, but it’s your gun. Good luck with it.

There is NO reason, IMO, to use Stingers with their extra long case in any .22. They are not good for your chamber or leade, and they are typically sloppy accurate. If you have some, suggest you use them as a unique paper weight. If you MUST have hypervelocity ammo, use CCI Velocitors with standard case length and, in my experience (bolt action only), pretty accurate.

Not everyone who ends up with a rifle with a Bentz (or better) is smart though. 😉

Back in the mid 1980s I met a fellow at a gun show who was showing some of his Ruger pistols he was building out of his garage. I asked about him building a 10/22 barrel for me specifically to shoot CCI stingers. He said no problem and a few weeks later received the 20” stainless bull barrel. Still shoots very, very accurately to this day using Stingers. BTW… his shop was Tom’s Gun Bluing… (Tom Volquartsen).

And my Volquartsen full build manual says “no stingers”

Congrats!
Talk about conflicting information in an ad!

All my Bentz chambered barrels state, by the manufacturer, not to use Stingers.
With that said, all my Bentz chambered barrels, with the exception of one, will chamber a CCI Stinger without forcing the round into the chamber, and the round falls out with only gravity. Go figure. The one barrel that is about 1/32” shy of fully seating/chambering a CCI Stinger is my POS Ruger Target barrel tomato plant stake. (POS in this case does not mean Point Of Service).
I follow manufacturers’ statements of suitable 22LR ammunition.

Green Mountain Co. does make a barrel in bentz just for that cartridge. But don't think we'll be seeing any for a long time. Also no reviews or videos on the barrel as well. Would really like to see one on YouTube.

I don’t think that it is exactly a Bentz chamber. The ads give conflicting information, also calling it a stinger chamber. Thinking maybe a Bentz style chamber but cut a fraction deeper into the barrel to accommodate the extra case length of the stinger casing?
if it is a stinger length bentz chamber, it's probably just GM trying to sell another run of machining mistakes...

It seems that they consider the term “Bentz Chamber” to be akin to “varmint contour’, a vague idea rather than something specific. Kinda like calling all photocopy machines xerox or all facial tissues kleenex.

The Stinger chamber has specific dimensions… note the length of “C”.
The Bentz chamber also has specific dimensions:

Still I'd like one & the 18" w/the sights by GM. For now my 16 & 17" barrels will do. Also my LVT for the Stingers & Punch ammo.
Looks like stinger chamber is a hair tighter than a bentz, couple ten thousands, and not quite 6 thousands longer. So pretty much a stretched bentz

Well, I was just asking why they say not to do it, thats all.
