My BX25 mags also fit loosley in the mag well. I do not have the issues you describe. Holding onto the magazine would often cause my old school Butler creek mags to ftf. What mags do run well in your rifle that may help. What stock are you using? As well You didn't mention what ammo you were using? That is always part of the equation.

Well I have had this rifle for about two months. I have used the regular 10 round magazine with great success. I have a blonde wood stock on it it seems to be the regular wood stock with a different finish. I used winchester ammo and also federal. However I also posted this at marlinowners.com and they said the following:

Make sure it seated properly first. I would also take a good look at the plunger and consider replacing it. If the plunger is worn it won't hold the mag correctly and therefore not feed properly. Since the top of the mag is near identical to the standard BX-1 mag, it shouldn't be a fit issue. Maybe the added weight of the extra rounds are causing it to sag, again due to the plunger? Just some theories, I'm an owner but no expert.
I've also heard many people claiming to have problems until they dismantle it a clean out any rough areas and burrs. I'd give that a go for sure as well.

Thanks for the info, just one more question? Do both BX-25 mags wobble when locked in your rifle? The fact that one of them works OK and the other not so much makes me lean towards the one that doesnt work so well as possibly having a production issue, Burr, rough spot, no factory lube etc. The fact your factory 10rounds work good is a good thing.

As far as ammo goes, Nothing jumps out to me as a possible lead. But I would recommend trying other ammo if for anything just another excuse to need to go shooting :bthumb:

Looks like the info you received from the post in the Marlin forums is pretty solid info. I would recommend you dissemble check for flaws/burrs ect and then lightly lube the channel where the rounds would ride with a light wiping of silicon oil or other light lube (Some people like Dry lube) and see if that helps.

I would disregard the wobble issue until you have something more concrete pointing at it. All of my non-adjustable high-caps wobble in the mag well. I believe they are intentional designed like that to compensate for the large variance in tolerances of 10/22 though out the years.

Yes both magazines fit the same. I'll do what you said about the disassembly. I ordered a new spring off ruger hopefully that will solve the problem. I looked over the spring in my rifle and it does seem worn down a little bit. Hopefully this will solve the problem, I'm planning to go shooting next Thursday with a few friends, and if I get that new spring in I'll post a range report. thank you for your help

you can just pull that mag catch spring and make it a little longer and that will at least temporally help. if it fixes the issue then worry about replacing the spring. Best of luck :bthumb:

This is the reason that I prefer the TI-25 mags. If you have much side to side play then you might try to slightly modify the stock in the area where the mag. fits. Depending on the amount side to side play maybe a small strip of plastic bonded to each side will solve that problem.

The Ti design is great but does not allow you to use it in one than more gun without readjusting. That is not a problem if you only have one. But who can only have one. Again I am not sure there is any problem with the wobble aside from aesthetics. Th OP has stated that both of his BX-25s wobble and only one of them is giving him fits. That to me is the first hint that the wobble is not likely the culprit. Modifying the mag well may cause other mags used to not work correctly and would not be worth it IMHO.

I've heard good things about the TI magazine, however I'm a college student with limited funds and the $65 price tag isn't too appealing when I can get two of the BX25 mags at about the same price. Maybe down the road I could get one...I got a few days left before I get that spring and I'm hoping that my feeding problem end there! :AR15firin

The "composite" TI25 is the one you would want anyway. the Aluminum is nice and a great mag. But they are heavy and do absorb/retain heat compared to the synthetics. The composite have all the same features as the aluminum such as steel feed lips and full adjust ability and directly compare to the cost of a BX-25 about $30 give or take. <-- I don't want to come off like there is anything wrong with the TI25's. They are great magazines! The BX-25 is just the latest thing. It being distributed by Ruger is a niche for many including myself. It is nice to have Ruger finally after all these years produce a high capacity mag is a breath of fresh air. As well they do really look great and seem to work fantastic for the majority..

Bulletnose - Their is no controversy with me, I own them both and enjoy them both. My experience with my TI's is that they would not interchange between two of the three 10/22's I had. As you mentioned tolerance vary greatly in 10/22's so it is really no surprise. The only real point I have in any of these posts is the OP thinks the wobbling is what is contributing to his feeding problem. I was only trying to illustrate that his interpenetration may be misleading and there and is nothing worse than chasing a ghost in regards to feeding issues. All suggestions here are valuable and appreciated!
