Hey guys
anyone ever cut the ruger carbine stock off flat and put a rubber butt pad on it ? Where can you find small butt pads to shape and fit ? I have three factory stocks now and want to try something with them.

There are several options:

A direct replacement of the Ruger butt plate with a rubber extension pad, like sold by "Cheaper Than Dirt" for ~ $5..

Cheaper Than Dirt

Or, a recoil pad that must be fitted, like sold by "Lyman" / "Pachmayr".

That's an interesting question, putting a recoil pad on a semi-automatic 22. It's kind of like putting an afterburner on a turtle.
I did buy an extended buttplate for mine to experiment with different pull lengths and because the OEM stock is way too short for a normal human.

Just for looks, anything is better than the plastic that comes stock.
