What is everyones opinion on the BoreSnake?

Don't like 'em. I wouldn't think of putting them through my good barrels. They can pick up all kinds of grit etc. I clean with new patches on either a weed-wacker pull-through (light fouling) or coated rod (heavy fouling). I've never seen one used by match shooters--ever.

I have two, a .22 cal. and a .30 cal. (seems everything I own is one or the other ), and use them everytime I leave the range. It really takes care of the powder fouling but won't touch copper fouling. Use the "old fashion" methods for that stuff.

But anything that won't copper foul, ie. has a chrome bore, pistols, rimfires (rifles or pistols), usually gets only a BoreSnake run through it.

Just about all of my .22 cleaning is with a bore snake. I put a few drops of Hoppe's #9 down the bore and run the snake through a few times. Good enough for me.
