I need some help with jeweling the bolt on my daughter's 10/22 rifle I built for her. I have a 3/16" wire engine turning brush plus abrasive compound I bought from Brownells, I just need to know the pattern in which to use. How much overlap should I measure between each point and where should I start? I'll be using a mill with DRO's so indexing the pattern won't be a problem. I just need some pointers as to where to start and where to end. Many thanks.

Different ways

My advice is to practice a few rows on something else. I start with a full swirl and then overlap 1/2 the rest of the row and the next row will overlap the first row by 1/2.

I think I'll try both 25% and 50% overlap on a scrap piece and see how it looks. I'll post a pic of the sample when I get it done. Many thanks.
