THE PLANS ABOVE USE THE LR bolt stop.
A magnum is better "longer" but if used will not also hold the bolt open like the LR device will
pic of item below .
also the jb weld piece is better replaced with an external item (nut bolt) . easier to get ahold of.

Does this item hold the bolt closed on its own after actuating it?  Or do you have to hold it while shooting?

I think the spring would push it back down and there for you would have to hold it while squezing the trigger.

Is this corect?  :-/

Chief says :::: no ! you dont have to hold anything
SHUT  .  if that were the case, it would be easier
to just hold the action shut ,using your thumb on
the charging handle.

The device , uses the crosspin in the trigger assembly
to lock the device into position, just like when used
as a hold open situation. (which it can still be used to do).
If you can make it out in my (bad) picture. a small
addition of metal to the activating lever is added,
this is needed to give you something extra to get ahold
of. (to set the device)
I used JB-Weld to add a piece of metal to it , later finding it was a pain in the xxs , and changed to a small
not and bolt inserted in a predrilled hole.
THIS ADDED after the weapon was completely reassembled.   confused = I can post a pic.

Chief....

Just a question.  Your statement raised my eyebrows, and I honestly have NO idea if the 10/22 will hold true to form on this, but one time, JUST one time, way back in my tender years, I made the mistake of holding an autoloading pistol with a revolver hold, and was rewarded with getting splashed in the face with my own blood when the slide came back THROUGH the web of my hand.

Believe me, it only takes once to learn.  Seems like the bolt on a 10/22 would offer similar results if one was to try to hold it in place by hand?

Anyone out there tried it?  Inquiring minds want to know...

Antlurz,

It CAN be done! DONT do this with ANYTHING "hyper velocity" . Ive only done it with Wolf or other Target type ammo. Im too chicken to do it with anything hotter ;D. The Chiefs method is safer for the thumb anyway.
