Been trying to find some BKL 257 rings at all the usual places. Air Guns of Arizona, Brownells, Sinclair....all out of stock and they don't know when they will get them. Don't really want to go to BKL direct and be waiting like everyone else.

Anyone have any other ideas of where to get some?

Or do I just go with another option for my 452 Varmint .17HRM with 3/8" dovetail. Will be mounting a Weaver V16. Model # and heights that will work, in your opinion.

Thanks

Yep, I got another idea. :D

PM HotRod9mm and get one of his awesome new CZ dovetail-to-Weaver adapters and a set of Burris medium Sig. Zee rings. That will make it as close to perfect setup you'll ever have. :t

Craig N...

I'd show you some pics of mine, but dang photobucket ain't working for me right now. :(

BKL is the worst company i have ever dealt with. i hardly ever post here, but i lurk often, and BKL has owed me money for almost a year on some rings i returned. i sent at least 10 emails and called and called but no one ever answered the phone. dont deal with them, unless you have extra $$$ to throw away.

I got my 257's from BKL after about a month wait.. never got a confirm
on the order. Got some Warnes while waiting and really like them a lot
better, I was going to put the BKL on a Varmint but I'm going to order
some more Warnes..... I'll use them from now on.

Here's a V-16 with the Warnes on a 452 Amreican

+1. Cost a lot more, but in this case, you'll get what you paid for.

If BKL is what you want, try Mary or Coates Watkins at either: [email protected] or [email protected]

I've purchased my last three or so sets from them. They primarily cater to silhouette shooters, don't advertise (other than word of mouth), and I make absolutely no guarantees as to what they have in stock. Just what worked for me....

Good Luck.

Yes the Warne 7.3/22 rings in High (.525" ) Brownells # 947-000-098
My picture does not show the obj bell but it is about 3/16" off the barrel.
I would "think" this would give you enough clearance on the Varmint even
with the thicker barrel. Your gonna love that scope !!

Nice looking adaptor if you "have" to have Weaver style rings but just not
as clean a look to my eye.... less is more ...YMMV

I would suggest the Warne rings or the CZ 452 rings, real nice and in my opinion better looking and better in function than the BKLs.

I can get the BKLs but they are in silver, no black finish available.

When cancelling my order for the BKL rings from Air Guns of Arizona, they reported that "BKL is apparantly no longer in business". As a dealer, they had been unable to contact BKL for weeks for resupply of BKL products.:shakehead

That could be the case. The distributors I buy from are closing them out.
Of course that could also mean they're slow to fill orders.

I had one bad set a few yrs ago ,a ph call got me a replacement set in three days, and they didn' even ask for the bad ones back.. I realize they sell faster than they can produce them and are hard to find many times ,but I found them a bit hard to catch up with on the ph but very quick to fix a problem, just my experience --JMJ--

If true, be gentle with Gerald (gmd1950). He will be in mourning....
Man I'm already burning candles and doing incantations, not really but I do hope it isn't true as they'll a good quality solution to a lot of mounting problems for reasonable prices. Their lack of communication is a shame and there are a lot of folks who will miss them if they're gone, buy stock in Warne and B-Square I guess?!?:D

No love lost

As a back drop to Geralds feelings towards BKL, I will not miss them one single bit.
Most all of my other modern rimfires have been set-up with quick detach rings on a Weaver base, so to me, Hotrod9mm's new supply of Weaver single piece bases for ALL of the 452 and 453 Models INCLUDING the Lefties (Me) AND the Stainless (Nickel) finished Styles is perfect timing.
He even ensured that the spacing was correct in order that the 10/22 guys, such as myself can cross over a scope on Q-D's to a CZ and back with the spacing matching perfectly. Same with His answer for "Other" popular brands (you'll have to insert the brands at this time):D .
Now I can quickly and easily change optics on all of my favorite guns.
I tried those BKL 257's on my Anschutz, they are the last and only set I will ever buy.
They do not hold center, AND they instill stresses into the scope tube just by virtue (there's an oxymoron) of their design.
I also tried the Brooks 2-Piece Weaver adapters, for over a year I thought my Varmint in HM2 had some sort of terrible issues when all along it was those bases moving and shifting around.
Quickest way I know to accurize your CZ is to install a one piece Weaver adapter base that was designed and clearanced properly in the first place with 6 screws that promote and hold a perfect center. Soon as I can, I'll post a pic of the BKL's at the bottom of my trash can!:)
