best way to clean chamber in the field?

201 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  dons
Any one have a best method for cleaning the chamber on a 10/22 without stripping the gun? I'm taking my new RRR out for the first time this weekend and would like to have a quick and effective way to keep the chamber clean as I try different brands of ammunition.

You sharpen one end and melt a button on the other end to hold the patch on.

Or you can get a neat kit from the RFC sponsor "PatchWorm".

I bought a kit and made some of my own. With the use of "WipeOUT" and the PatchWorm, the brushed are in the dark corner of the cleaning supply drawer. If I need a brush, I use a bore snake. It is best to run a patch or two through the bore while the barrel is warm at the range ... makes it much easier to clean. Mike
