expensive meal. Look for top offerings from Vortex ie Razor, Nightforce, March, Leupold, ZCO, Meopta., Athlon, SnB, Kahles. Some fixed benchrest offerings like sighttron, leupold, march for 30-60x are something else as long as the targets are AT distances like 50,75,100 and you know your click ups since most BR scopes are more single distance set up.

Save your money.

If you can't beat your friend at 50-100 yards with a mid priced 6-20 scope at the shooting range, you probably aren't going to win a dinner bet if you spend 2k on a scope.

Spend what you save by not buying a scope, lot test some good ammo, practice and then enjoy a free dinner.

Unless you cannot actually see the target, the scope probably isn't the weak link.

if you can't shoot better than your friend with a vortex, then its a "you" problem or a gun/ammo problem....not the scope. You never mentioned what gun, barrel or ammo you are using. Those are far more important than the scope, considering the scopes you have.

what I like and use on both my 457 Varmint MTR's Bench-Rest Scope | Argos BTR 10-40×56 BLR SFP MOA but I'm frugal

Lots of people using the Sightron siii at the club, several using the Golden Eagle, I have both and bought a March High Master. It didn't make me a better shooter but my misses sure were sharp and crisp.

My ZCO 840 hasn't won me anything so far but it sure is impressive sitting on top of my Vudoo.
I relate to ST457 above, lol.

I'd go Meopta all the way. I'd look at the Optika5 (lower profile and weight than the 6), and a 4-20X50 RD with Z Plus reticle for bullet drops. If you want to dial, just take of the caps. Solid scope and a great price.

Jump straight to 200 yards and have lots of dinners till your Friend figures it out.

6-20 is more than enough, depending in what the competition is the 3-9 or even peeps can do it.
