I have a buckmark that I have added a bunch of tandemkross stuff to and it's awesome with the factory sights but it has a Picatinny rail on it. I want to add a red dot for faster acquisition. what do you guys recommend? I like vortex but Im ok with other brands.

I have a Match Dot 4 on mine. I have a Fast Fire II on my 22-45 and it washes out in bright sunlight, something the Match Dot doesn't due being a tube type. The C-More is a fine piece of kit.

I have a Vortex Venom on mine with an Outer Impact rail/mount. Not the best for quick target acquisition, since it has a single 2MOA dot. On my Ruger Mark IV race pistol, I'm running a Holosun. 507C, it has a dot in the center and a 65 MOA circle. Can select just the dot, just the circle or both...the circle and dot together is great for me.

Since this is a Buckmark thread, I will only post that one.

Don't own a Buckmark.
Own a few pistols with optics and am personally not a fan of tube type dots. Eye relief and parallax aren't an issue...it's just that I don't pick up targets as quickly as I do with the reflex type. Could be just a matter of what I have most experience with is what works best.

Also, with astigmatism in my dominant eye that's progressively getting worse green illumination isn't distorted nearly as much as red. Red dots look like fuzzy commas, green looks more like an asterisk.

I like the FFIII and Deltapoint Pro...but I've got a couple of Swampfox Kingslayers at less money and REALLY like them.

I just use 4moa reflex sights. Pretty sure they are sightmark although one is badged browning. I've got a Mueller reflex also. Having four different reticles is pretty nice and red or green. Cheap, work fine never broken good enough. Air gun Trigger Machine gun Wood Shotgun

On my Buck Mark, I'm running a Vortex Venom. Mount is only available for the Doctor / Noblex pattern, so that limited my selection.

On my Trailside, I'm running a Vortex Razor. Was able to get a 3/8" dovetail mount direct from Vortex, so it clamped onto the barrel dovetail nicely for a clean, no-drill install.

EDIT: Not sure what is "Best". That is a bit of a user-by-user case and how deep your wallet is. Some may recommend an Aimpoint, but some would consider that a bit over-kill for a 22lr plinker.

I've shot the Razor / Trailside combo, very nice set-up. Haven't taken out the Buck Mark / Venom yet. Just finished that build for the Mrs.
