Bergara BMR

I was checking this little guy out at the Scheels the other day. 17hmr comes with a 5 and 10 rnd mags. It's a synthetic stock that feels OK. It is 1/2x28 threads on the barrel for a suppressor. It comes with an all steel barrel or a steel carbon fiber barrel and a factory installed 30 moa rail. I think what I like the best about this is the fact that it uses a Remington 700 trigger so I have an almost unlimited selection of triggers from 2 oz to 4#. I was looking for the CZ 457 varmint in 17hmr but no one has them and everyone says the lead time is 2 years. The only decent 17hmr I have found locally is a t bolt Varmint for $895 and the Gray Laminated for $995. Just can't see spending $1k+ for a rimfire with a bad trigger when I can pick up a Rimfire for half that with the ability to get an 8 oz timney or Jewell trigger for it.

Does anyone here have one of these rifles? BMR Steel - Bergara Rifles USA

I ended up splurging and going with the b-14r steel.
You‘re a wise man… or at least one wiser than me  🤦‍♂️, that’s what I should have done - unfortunately I didn’t get a great BMR like some others did.
After some initial promise I’m struggling with barely MOA accuracy and flyers, and that’s after weighting and stiffening the stock and dropping in a Jewel.
To be fair I didn’t do ammo testing across enough ammo brands yet - that’s next, I only worked with my 2 go-to ammo types - Midas + and R50.
For now, the struggle continues…;)

check eBay before your scope purchase. I bought two at $300 delivered that usually bring $450. Here is one example of what you are interested in.

Now I'm jealous as I just have the Argos in the 6-24 and 10-40. Your pick should have some very nice glass.

I have one, Carbon .22lr. Not crazy about the stock so I got a Boyd's Barracuda for it. I didn't like the trigger either, so I bought a Trigger Tech Diamond and it went right in. The bolt wasn't very smooth at first, but after 2-300 rounds it's pretty good now. Consistency at 25 yards is jagged hole 10 round groups.
Did you have to sand out the channel to fit the carbon barrel? Thanks

Nope, fit right out of the box. Keep in mind, a Barracuda stock doesn't have a barrel channel like a traditional stock.
