I've got a VQ barrel mounted scope base in the safe, is there any big advantage that I'll see by changing to this scope base? is it actually worth the hassle?

If you have an extremely snug fit between the receiver and the barrel, probably not, but if there is any possibility of movement between them, the barrel mount will take care of it.. kinda..

Chief Says : Question for you . Would you mount a scope base on your receiver , using only 2 screws ?
Personally I would not.
On the barrel " scout mount style its ok. " Usally a lighter weight
scope is used.
For large Scopes , over the receiver more than 2 screws fit the bill.

Myself , If I use the cantilever mount over the receiver I add 4
holes to it , mill the bottom for a flush fit , secure it to the barrel and receiver ( 6 screws total . ) Thats a mount.

Thanks guys,

Ron, it's a tight fit in the reciever, isn't ever coming out.

Chief, good reasoning man, I never thought of it that way.

it stays as is....

(tears in eyes) (you guys are so wonderful talking me out of doing silly stuff) :)
