After looking at the manual it appears that the first couple inches of the barrel have been turned down and a sleeve with the front sight slid on it. I'm thinking about cutting the barrel off right behind the front sight. I like the long tube but I like 'em smooth. Gotta get rid of that rear one too, interfears with scope mounting.
You can remove the ladder on the rear sight by pushing down on the front section, just ahead of the cross pin, and pulling to the rear on the back of thr ladder at the same time. That left plenty of room for my scope.
Greyeagle, I'm wanting to mount a 44mm scope with an AO. I tied to fit it with the ladder off but it was a no go. I could use higher rings but I like to keep my scopes as close to the bore as possable. Besides I already have a set of Burris signature Zee rings I'd like to use. Tom.
