Bald Eagle or Protektor Rear Bag

310 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Bob T.
What would you all recommend for a rear bag for a CZ American? A bunny ear or rabbit ear? An extra heavy bottom (which will add some height) or standard?

Also I want to buy a rear bag.... I have seen a Bald Eagle bunny ear and it looked real nice and had the cordura ears, but have heard good things about Protektor bags.

Any comments or suggestion? What are the advantages of cordura over leather rear bags and vice versa?

What about the Caldwell bag compared to the above brands?

Thanks!!

I use a protektor bunny ear rear bag on my American and all my rifles. With leather you use baby powder on the ears to make them slick so the rifle slides easy. With cordura you use a silicone spray. Baby powder is cheaper and no aerosols to polute the environment.
My rear bag has the double bottom I like it a lot bought it from Sinclair International.

Baby powder will not hurt the leather. No you don't have to use anything on the bags but you want the rifle to slide when it recoils and the powder helps do that.

Thanks!

Will the baby powder ruin the leather over time? Does one HAVE to use these products on their bags?
