IMHO the Armscor ones don't look that much like the M-16. Not enough that I'd want one. The AP-74 types do, but the only one I've ever seen was too expensive.
I bought one years ago off a friend for $50, and found much to my amazement that it was very accurate, and seemed pretty reliable. Unfortunately it got sold when I had to purge my collection. I don't know if I got a good one and the rest are poopoo, but mine was nice.
I picked up an armscorp m1600R (retractable stock model) 8 years ago in a pawn shop. It has a 15 round mag and is very accurate for a stock rifle. I pulled the carrying handle off mine and mounted a redfield 3-9 scope on it. The gun is hard to properly hold due to the retractable stock alignment. However, it looks very cool and always gets a lot of attention at the range. It never jams, and the only problem I've had with it was the extractor breaking once. I ordered a new one from Numrich and was back in business. No telling how many gazillion rounds I've put through it. Also very easy to dissassemble and clean.
