I just had to buy the Anschutz. I want to try the .17, I love the Exemplar pistol-so.... Any suggestions on scope? I am thinking 3X12 PA Burris. Can I install a sling swivel for a bipod- plastic stock? It will be used for plinking, not hunting...at least not for edible game. What kind of rings?

I bought it for $375.00, plus tax!

$375.., that's a dang good price. But to tell you the truth, Burris ain't the company they used to be. Their products are pretty good for the most part, but their customer service department is just a shadow of what they used to be...

Just saying...

Had and sold the same in .17hmr. I had the 4x12 Burris scope and it worked real weel. It was the ballistic plex I think. Main crosshair at 100yds. and was on to 300 where the crosshair goes from light to heavy. I had Harris bipod 9" to 12" worked great to shoot off bench or hood of pickup. I don't remember how I attached the bipod. May have put reinforcement tab on inside of stock. Bottom line is bipod is the way to go.

Is there some kind of "statute of limitations" on age of posts?

Relevance should be considered.

Anyway ... I have a Ans 17LP that has a Hawke 4-14 with a lightweight bipod and it is a terrific shooter.

Although I paid more than twice the price the OP paid, it was worth it.

No but the price he's quoting from the OP is likely no longer relevant. They also go on to say that Burris isn't the company they used to. I'm pretty sure they were fine when the post was made 20 years ago. It's almost like he posted just to add the dig about Burris' customer service department. It's off topic and is unrelated to the OP's questions regarding mounting a sling swivel stud and which rings he should use.

The person who made the post 20 years ago hasn't logged on to RFC in over a year
