Just wrap one layer of Vet tape around the stock. Where you want it.
Then use anything.. bubble wrap. Carpet.. foam..
Old tee shirt.. dish washing rag..
Lay it on..and wrap it up with more Vet wrap tape.
Very eazy to do.

No ? It looks exactly like a homemade cheek riser...ha!!😁
I don't think it looks bad.
Yes , it's not factory looking at all.
But it works great.
Myself? I'm not too worried about how it looks.. just want it to work for me.
And it does.
Sure helps getting on the sights.
And so much easier to shoot.

Vet tape adheres/sticks to itself. If you wrap a layer on your stock then lay, for example a log shaped roll of some soft material on the top the vet tape will hold the “riser” in place. Here’s one of my rifles with vet tape. Go to the web because it come in different widths and colors.

Well that looks as good as some of the tactical monstrosities I see on the internet.
I think I’ll order some Vet wrap tape.:)
instead of ordering online

try shopping at your local feed stores. you should be able to find it at many/most of them, and save the shipping costs

I bought it from tractor supply.
Pretty sure the farmers elevator will have it too.
Doesn't look so bad does it?
One of mine , I used red tape.

Looks good, last long time.
that's a pretty neat idea.

in the past i glued on cheek riser pads to my long range polymer rifle stock.... but thankfully i never had to remove them.... i would imagine it might damage the finish of a nice wood stock.

i've seen people at the range use these types of inexpensive commercially available buttstock shell holders..... which they then introduce mouse pad layers or yoga mat remnants to establish the appropriate cheek riser height. here's one example: Allen Company Rifle Buttstock Shell/Cartridge Holder...they run about $7 on Amazon
Vet tape is very handy, only limited by your imagination as for what it can and can't do...
for the non DIY inclined... I a Kick Ez style of one of these on Benelli M1S90 to get a good cheek weld for the 10/22 flip sight used for slugs... regards

And to cover it, just slide on an elastic elbow sleeve. Smallest size usually works best and even then you might have to tuck both ends under. Or get a Magpul Hunter X-22 stock.

What is that wood stock? I the but pad behind the riser looks like an optical illusion of some sort?

That's one of the Brownells 10/22 stocks with the monte carlo comb. The comb wasn't high enough for my granddaughter to properly see thru the scope so had to add pipe foam and cover with an elbow sleeve.
