I have an older Stainless AMT 10/22 rifle and was wondering the general opinion of these actions vs the Ruger action?

Thanks, Sighter

If I remember correctly !

If G. David Tubbs shoots an AMT setup then it can't be bad now can it ! ?
I did not know Mr .Tubbs shot an AMT, I appreciate the info. :p

I own two AMT 25/22 lightning rifles. The stainless bolts will gall against the stainless receivers. I replaced my AMT bolts with Ruger 10/22 bolts 20 yeras ago. They have functioned perfectly ever since with no sign of galling.
Well I don't know if you can say they all do. Mine hasn't. I made my dedicated bench gun starting with an AMT action. Bolt worked over by Randy at CPC. Functions beeeeeyoutifully!

p.s. and if you spend enough time and are patient you can make it shine like chrome if you want!
I love mine :t
Small Game Hunter II with reworked trigger stuff and replacements, currently at 6oz and has been that way for better'n a year, with no AD's.
Ruger bolt can be fit snug as a bug, and theres nothing like steel for durability ;)
