Where to find one- Thought my local Cabela's had one. Cabela's webpage said "Limited availability" and the next closest one said "Out of Stock". Called the close one and no dice. They said I could order from Henry, but wait time was 1 year out.

I just saw this listing on Guns America. You might want to check it out.

Personally, every time it said limited availability, they have 1 in stock. I have been through this crap more times than once with my local Cabelas/ Bass Pro. You just got one of their lazy salesmen that didn’t want to go look in the back room where they keep a lot of the inventory. I went up to my local store one time due to the same thing, and the first guy behind the counter blew me off. One of the other guys got free from helping someone else, and I told him what was going on. He looked up what I was wanting, walked in the back and brought out the gun I was wanting.

The same thing happened to me back in the day at Gander Mountain an hour away from us. I called before making the trip to ensure the Circuit Judge my wife wanted was available and the associate I talked to said yes and he would tag it for me since I was on my way. I got there, introduced myself and asked for the associate by name but was told he was gone to lunch. I told them he had tagged a Circuit Judge for me and I wanted to look at it with intentions of purchase. The guy said they were out of them and walked away. It just so happened the associate I had called walked up and asked if I needed help so I told him the score. He said yeah I have it in the back hold on a minute and I'll get it, while he looked at the other associate. He brought it, I bought it then left and the next thing I knew they closed down a few months later.

I went through the "limited availability" thing for Cabela's up in Delaware back in January 2017 when I was "in dire need" of a 10/22 Target (20" stainless spiral barrel). I called them to make sure they had one in stock and they couldn't tell me over the phone, even though the website said they had one "limited availability", and other Cabela's stores showed "out of stock". I finally drove up there and asked at the counter...duder said, "I don't see one out here." I pulled out my phone, got on the website and showed duder what it said...he thought about it for a couple minutes, looking on their computer, and finally said, "I'll have to go in the back and check." About 20 minutes later he finally returned with it boxed in his grubby duder hands...

Grayrock, go over to gunbroker.com and order you one. There’s a bunch on there and the first one that pulled up for me was Reeds sporting goods and they have 3. They are very good to deal with.👍

Last year when I retired I got $2500 worth of gift certificates for Cabela’s/Basspro. I decided I would use them to finish my collection of Beretta 686’s, and get a 28 gauge. They had one in stock on the rack and I said I would take it. I waited a hour and a half while a couple of the guys and the manager fumbled around trying to find the case and all the extras that they come with. Finally the manager said we can get you some choke tubes to fit it that we should have in stock, and I said what about the factory case and all the other stuff that it comes with? He finally found another one in stock at another store and had it shipped in. So all total on that gun was about 3 hours and 2 trips.🤬 I think Mr. Morris needs to go undercover and visit some of his stores and then it may change.

I bought my wife an American Beauty a year or so ago from GunBroker. I also purchased a no drill sling to go with it. We have shot it once. I am sure we put less than 50 rounds through it in that one outing. It's certainly a pretty gun, but she didn't enjoy shooting it as much as she thought she would. So it's in the safe until such time as she tells me to trade it off for something else.

I brought a rifle at Cabelas (once) myself.
What an ordeal. Three hours later I was being escorted out with my new rifle. The background check wasn't the slow part. It was their process. It was unnecessarily cumbersome. And being escorted to the door so I don't commit a criminal act was less than flattering. I felt guilty until proven innocent.
Every other place I've bought guns from was maybe 10 mins or less, and I picked it up and just left.
I doubt I'll buy another "big box store" gun unless it's a super deal, or they send it to my ffl guy.
I have other gripes I'll save for another day.
All I have is a Dunhams and Walmart. First guy with a smirk; Is Henry a guy or a gun?"

Al, sorry about you limited gun store options. I guess that's why God made the interweb. Or was it Al Gore?
My maternal grandfather's name is Henry, I have a few Uncle Henry knives, and Henry rifles. I suppose Henry could cut you, shoot you, and give you a silver dollar at Christmas.

Big box store customer service is a play on words I reckon.

So what I am hearing "Barrelhorses" is that you need more room in your safe. Let me take it off your hands. 😉

I somehow missed this reply before now. Thanks for sending me a PM. Even though my wife probably won't shoot it much, she still likes having it. As I recall when she wanted it, we passed on a chance to buy it when it was in stock at Cabelas. So I found it on Gunbroker and bought it. That was one auction that I wound up hitting the "Buy Now" button for. It was one of those auctions where someone else was bidding against me in the last half hour or so. It was creeping close to the buy now price anyhow, so I ended the competition before the other bidder did it.
This one is probably the best priced one on Gunbroker at this time all things considered (low shipping charge, no CC fee):

I'm not even sure what this seller is thinking as this one is about double the going rate even for Gunbroker:
"I'm not even sure what this seller is thinking as this one is about double the going rate even for Gunbroker:"

The BUY NOW price is $925. So the going rate is about $500?
Some of the stories told above reminds me of when I worked for a large hardware store 50 some years ago that sold guns. Out of the total of 15 or so sales employees there were 3 or 4 of us who really liked guns and would jump at the chance to show guns to customers and sell guns. Some of the other guys would just as soon not bother because it took a little extra effort to fill out the proper forms and such required at the time. This store also took used guns in on trade so there was a little extra incentive to be the first one aware of something coming into inventory that we might be interested in owning ourselves, lol.
Michael62: this is all I could find. https://www.reedssports.com/brand/henry Is there a secret password to get to the firearms area?
