Has anyone else tried using Aguila ammo? Their standard velocity target ammo performs better than Remington target in my Ruger Government model. The hyper velocity also seems pretty darn accurate in my 10/22. This Mexican ammo seems to be an undiscovered item to most folks. What do you think?

What do I think? = I think you are RIGHT!

The variety of the loads that the lads in Curnevaca are sending up this way is simply astonishing... not just the rimfires, but the centerfire rifle pistol and shotgun loads are just delightful... and _Very_ useful. :)
There's been a lot of "Gunshow Wisdom" and secondhand expertise about Aguila products, Just wait around if this thread stays current for a while.
I LIKE the stuff for one simple reason... My targets don't offer opinions, only holes = which are usually surprisingly close together in itty-bitty groups with the 'stinkey' little Ely-Pirmed wonders:D

The first box of SE Std Vel I tried I had ejection problems but they grouped better than the bulk ammo I had been shooting.

The second box I shot, at a later date, did not jam. I don't know if it was the ammo or the rifle that was the problem. It's the only rounds I've had problems with in that rifle.

Also, was able to locate some Wolf Target Match (thanks Ricky) and CCI Std Vel. The Aquila and CCI's printed about the same but the Wolf was best! What do they use on the Wolf for lubricant? Feels like Vaseline!

I've used the SE and recently the Super Maximum. The SE is fine so far but the Super Max groups are pathetic in my CZ-452 and Ruger Mk.II GC. I didn't expect anything hyper velocity to be all that accurate but these are like 7" groups @100 yds with the CZ.
I haven't given up on them though. I want to see how well they do in some other guns first. Hopefully something I have will at least give acceptable groups with them. They are FAST!

Opinions Vary Greatly

Some shooters like Aguila and some have had duds and squibs. My experience with the Match Pistol is good. It smells sweet but shoots fine and has decent accuracy. I suspect QC may be lacking at Aguila due to labor disputes. The shooters that have had bad experiences got the bad (strike) batches due to unhappy workers.

So far I've had mixed results with Aguila. The standard velocity 40 gr works well and shoots as good as Wolf MT. The SE Subsonics 38 grains is the worst ammo I've ever tested. Groups at 25 yards are 3/4 to 1 inch. No rhyme or reason. I even weighedall the 38 grains. Out of 100 rounds 34 were 49 grains, 33 were 48.5 and 33 were 48 grains.

Failure to feed was the main problem.

On the other hand, the SSS is the best ammo for my Mossberg. Those things will just clover leave at 25 even with iron sites.

I now have a brick of Match ammo on order to see if it works well in my CZ or 10-22.

I've been shooting SE high velocity in my 52B(original) since I found a couple of dusty boxes on the back of a local dealers shelf. I had one lot that was better than the other, with darn near one hole groups at 50 yards. The next brick shot about 3/8" groups. Wish I could find some of the older stuff!
