Advice on Scope Magnification Please

Hello all. Some advice with regards to scope magnification.I currently shoot a CZ457 with a Hawke Vantage x2-x7 32mm A.O. scope.I find this is fine for hunting, but when target shooting at 57 yards I struggle to see the center orange dot.
This is the target I typically shoot. The coin (for perspective) is 0.70 of an inch and my point of aim is the orange dot.
What would be a good magnification to use.... the crosshairs seem to cover the entire orange bullseye using a x7 mag?
Thank you

12 to 25x will give you very precise aiming holds if you have a fine reticle or, better yet, a floating dot reticle. With a fine reticle, I get by with 12x for the task you describe. Another possible help... shoot at a target with vertical and horizontal stadia line extending out from your X ring. When the lines are covered by the reticle, you are pretty well centered up- even with a 7x.

Read post #9.

For PRS I find 18x about the minimum for the smaller targets.

Thanks Stanhi.Did not think of the Stadia line idea and x12, thanks again.

Thanks Grantmac.I feel that at a x7 magnification, I am struggling at 56-57 yards on a target which is about 1/3 of an inch in diameter.
With a decent quality scope, the more magnification you get, and get used to it, the more you will appreciate it. I'm using a 36x45 ED Sightron at our 50' indoor range. Works for me but that is just my opinion.
