I needed a shooter and have always Loved 221 Fireball, so ordered this Classic 13 months ago and it just got here! Pleasantly surprised with the wood!

I would seriously be PO’ed if I ordered one of those rifle for that price and the wood didn’t look like that!!!
Obviously, you never dealt in the world of Coopers or high grade stocks. A classic doesn't come with much in the way of wood. Generally bland stuff. 300 bucks is nothing when it comes to upgrades. In today's world,I don't think $800 would be considered too much of an extra cost for wood of that quality. I suspect Cooper would generally want an extra $500 for that on a custom classic, which is supposed to come with AAA.

I have always been mesmerized by the curl of fine Claro, other types of high grade walnut may be more rare and sought-after, but one can admire wood like that in the sun light for hours. Congratulations on the new rifle and the beautiful wood.
