I do almost all of my paper punching with my 452 Varmint 17 HMR at 100 yards. I saw your post yesterday and since I happened to be going to the range I shot six, 5 shot groups at 50 yards. I used three different brands of ammo using the 17 grain V-Max bullet, CCI, Fed, and Hornady. Here are the results
CCI- .405" and .355"
Hornady- .330" and .395"
Federal- .495" and .360"
I looks like your 452 and mine are pretty comparable accuracy wise. I have done the trigger and free floated the barrel but no bedding work has been done. All my groups were pretty consistent without any bad flyers. But it does seem like I had one shot one in each group that opened the group up by an extra .75" to .100" with possibly the other four all touching.
