Well, now we go down another rabbit hole with the vudoo. Yes, it too can be done in a manner to meet Hunter Silhouette requirements. This one was challenged repeatedly and passed all hunter class criteria, including a tapered barrel (dial calipers proved the carbon fiber barrel tapers over it’s entire length).
Carbon fiber AG composites stock, timney CE two stage trigger set at 2.1lbs total, hawkins M5 dbm,
40 moa rail with a Nightforce 4-32x mil xt scope mounted with NF lightweight titanium bolt alum rings. Had to use the nf rings to save weight as every other ring option put me over the 8.5 lb weight limit.
Being light is costly though. This rifle pushed me over the edge about being nervous and having it stolen from the car or some other catastrophic loss—— went out and got a supplemental insurance rider that covers everything range related from Eastern insurance.
It shoots in silhouette as well as my 10/22 Kidd and Anschutz 1712. I am currently AAA classified and knocking on master scores on my good days and slumming down to AA on my bad days. IMHO it’s not so much equipment as form and concentration when you get to that level. The nice thing about the vudoo is it can be used in other disciplines like nrl/prs that require fast, easy mag changes on the clock, something the anschutz 1712 does not do well for me.
