Air gun Trigger Wood Gun accessory Gun barrel

Recent Acquisition: A RUGER 10/22 M1261 installed in a DesertTech TREK-22 Bullpup Stock.

The Barrel is 16.12 inches with a 2" Linear Comp. added. The entire length is slightly over 26 inches.

The weight is about 5 pounds. Although the trigger isn't bad, I am going to install a Volquartsen Hammer Kit and Bolt Release which I found for a combo deal on eBay. ($27 including shipping)

Shooting it was a blast! I was averaging 10 shot groups, under an inch at 40 feet.

UPDATE 02/16/23 I installed the Volquartsen Hammer Kit with Bolt Release. The trigger is so much better now!

I put this together when the chassis was available…excellent shooter.

I used a Beyer Ultralight 18” threaded bull barrel with a revamped trigger group and a modified Ruger bolt to reliably cycle subsonic rounds

I wonder if it would be legal in NYS???
With a 16 1/2” barrel OAL is of the proper length of 26 1/2”….not sure about NYS being a semi and capable of using a variety of magazines
Anyone that has one of these able to give insight on how well they are holding up? The main thing I wonder about is the split plastic rail for mounting optics. I wish they had a version with an aluminum rail that tied into the rifle somehow.
I changed scopes on mine, it continues to be rock solid…..it has 9 fasteners to keep the halves together…..it doesn’t move around and not too many polymer framed things wear out, especially on a .22

I continue to very much enjoy mine…

I know you've changed scopes since this pic was taken, but is that a Beeman scope?

Yes, it’s a Beeman SS-2…

cool, I had one back in the mid '80's on a FWB 124 DeLuxe...did in a lot of tasty squirrels with it

that would go great on a Compact...but for what they go for, I'll have to settle for the BugBusters 😁
I’ve got SS1’s, various model 2’s, and 3’s….love the L models with their ‘sunroof’ plus various colored filters and that illuminator

I used to run one of those on a CAR15 back before there were many real options for AR style rifles. They were specifically advertised for that purpose.

They were some of the first scopes expressly for heavier/sustained recoil on select-fire rifles since there are 11 affixed lenses in the SS2’s plus an etched reticle….early 1980’s and advertised in Baston’s catalog/Shotgun News….more 💵 now than in the day.

A VQ Hammer is the 2nd mod I do to a ruger 10/22. First is buy a 1/4 inch plastic Bolt at Home Depot and make a buffer to replace the 1/4 metal pin in the receiver
