10/22 Magazine Pouches.

Some time back, there was a thread discussing different ways to carry additional 10/22 mags with you when going "afield", rather than just to the range. I thought that any type of pouch affair would have to hold each magazine seperatly so that you could keep loaded and empty mags seperate. It had to allow you to draw the magazine one handed, had to hold it securely so it wouldn't be lost while roaming the fields, woods, hills, etc. And it has to provide at least some protection from dust, dirt, debris, etc. Here are two Ideas I came up with. I purchased both of these at Wallmart. The total cost was around $11.00 and some time. The first is a butstock elastic rifle cartridge holder. It was originally designed to hold 9 rifle cartridges. (Be patient this is going to take several posts since I can't figure out how to post multiple pictures on one.)

I have several magazine pouches for the Mosin-Nagant sniper rifles I have. They have two compartments and each one holds 4 Ruger 10/22 magazines. It's almost as if they were made for them. You can buy them from several locations handling military weapons and accesories. Norm
i have an extra Mosin clip pouch that i don't plan to use for anything. if anyone needs/wants it, let me know.
There's these... I don't think anyone has mentioned them:

Bit pricey, made to order. I'd buy one if it had a buckle instead of velcro... I'm thinking if it has to be velcro, I'd just as soon use the speed loader pouch with individual flaps.. but still thinking...

Okay this is my first post(been lurking forever) and not sure if I am putting this in the right place or not. Sure someone will let me know. I decided awhile back I wanted to put an M1 Carbine stock on my 10/22, once I put on the stock I decided to see if the stock pouch I have on my M1 Carbine would hold the 10/22 Mags. What I finally came up with was using the double mag adapter from EL Mfg. to attach two 10/22 mags together (Bottom to Bottom). With the mags attached they fit perfectly in the pouch. So I can always have 40 rounds in mags on the buttstock. The pouch I am using is from Olongapo Outfitters ($25) and works great. I also checked last night and the pouch will hold four Savage MK II Mags (2 per pocket). So now I need to order a couple more pouches. If anyone is interested I can post pictures and links.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but I'm considering doing the M1 carbine stock conversion and going with the butt stock pouches, too. I'd be interested in seeing pics of your setup if you have any.
If anyone is in the market for magazine pouches specifically designed for the 10/22, please have a look at the many options that Crusader Gear has to offer. I take a lot of pride in designing and producing these, and I know you will be happy with them. :)
Also try the M-1 Garand pouches at Olongapo Outfitters. These pouches are made for holding loaded M-1 Garand clips.

However, I've found them perfect for holding magazines for the Savage B-22. The Savage magazines are a little larger than the Ruger 10/22 10-round magazines. So I know that the Ruger magazines will fit.

Here is my M-1 Garand grab-and-go pouch with the B-22 magazines.

10/22 Magazine Pouches for afield

I use the HKS Speedloader Case #100, camouflage, Cordura nylon. Has velcro fasteners and fits belts 2 1/4" or smaller. They come in a 2 pack with solid stitching and will fit nicely 2 .22 LR magazines or 2 of the .22 Magnum 10/22 magazines. Comes in a black and yellow blister pack out of Florence, Kentucky under the name HKS Products, Inc. Quality work and quite handy.
