10/22 "boat paddle" stock

So, I have a pair of ruger 10/22s that are both stainless with the ruger "boat paddle" or "skeleton" stock. Not really sure what they're worth. I have several 22s and only shoot a handful of them. Buddy of mine saw them and claimed he had always heard about them but had never seen one. They're both in pretty good condition and still funtion as expected.

Are these as rare as he claims or are they pretty common?

If you have any knowledge of these rifles, feel free to let me know. They may find they're way to the sale section.

Picture for attention. Neither of mine have scopes, but this is the same stock/rifle

I would not consider them "rare" based on how often they are on the various online gun sale/auction sites where the asking prices are between about $500 and $900, most closer to the $500 mark than the $900 mark. Stocks alone seem to get $50 to $100. So maybe they're worth more than you paid for them, but it'll cost you some to sell them.

They'd make a great first rifle to a youngster in the family, of course given after completion of a hunter safety or firearm safety class.

I have a half dozen Ruger rifles with that "boat paddle" style stock....they're all from the All-Weather series of M77 bolt actions..

I just never had the hankering to put one of them on one of my 10/22's...I guess it's because I was buying 10/22 mannlichers when they were available

maybe if the 10/22 stock had the inserts and the sling hoops, so it was visually a better match to the bolt action stocks, I would have been more interested in keeping the series going

I like the looks. Wondering how it would look on my blued rifle, that is now in standard walnut.
