I suggest Burris Signature Zee's in Med. - best out there. :bthumb:

Oh and your title should read .... Mueller 4.5-14×40AO APV :)

The Ruger base is O.K. but I suggest a better base...don't be scared by the price...very decent base.

I blinged this one...just hit the tops with 400 grit then 600 then 800..10 minutes.

I agree that vendors should all have a manufacturer reference number and clear description, including number of slots, IF the picture is not the actual item being sold.

If it doesn't matter whether it's silver or black to you, UTG Leapers has one that has gotten good reviews. I'm pasting what I just gathered from searching here on the site (including contributions from Chaser, who replied above) and ebay and amazon...

Both links show that Leupold scope base with one area on both the front and back to mount your rings. Midway and Leupold's own site show 2 spots on one end and a single on the other. Not sure how it actually comes but I am leaning towards thinking Leupold may have made 2 versions? Not sure.

I found a nice, multi-slot scope base over at another site but it is $29.99 + $9.95 USPS shipping. Kind of steep and the shipping cost is insane for something that can drop in an envelope. If you want to see for yourself the link is:

I think that is the UTG #MNT-TOWL...and it is a great mount/base for the money..but not that money try this...http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Tactical-...qid=1371573957&sr=8-1&keywords=utg+10/22+base

I use that mount/base a bunch...you can 2-tone it and it would look nice on a two-tone rig...just clean the tops with some 400 grit..then finish with 800 grit...

I haven't received them yet, but I just bought three of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002GNYCJ4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on the suggestion of other members here on the sight. The reason I bought them was to be able to easily mount some quick-detach-mounted scopes and red-dot sights that I plan on moving around various .22s.

That 15MOA one is neat! That and a mildot reticle should make for some fun long-distance .22 shooting!

Can anyone tell me if the above base sets sights higher (or lower) then the standard mount that comes with the Ruger 10 22?

I have a rear sight that is sighted in and works well with the standard Ruger mount.

But, I want to add a scope and I think I need something like the above and a offset riser to make it all work. I would like to be able to take off the riser and put the rear sight back on.

      Thanks

      This is the riser

The rings you have are 3/8" Rimfire rings...for a Dovetail 3/8" base (JUNK)

      http://www.midwayusa.com/find?userSearchQuery=3/8"+rings

The base you need for them is junk...way back Ruger used to provide those with a newly purchased 10/22..they changed to a Weaver style but with typical Ruger OEM flare or lack of many moon ago...but it is just barely a decent rail with minimum cross slots.
But, if ya need/want a 3/8" rail I have one for you..PM me and I will mail it...pay-it-forward/no charge.

I suggest a Weaver/Pic Rail but NOT he one you got...you do not need the 15 MOA slope for most applications and only when shooting at distances over the norm.
So..a return on that base is in order...and maybe a exchange depending on what that retailer has...but then you will need new rings..so right now you have nothing that works..you knew that.
In some towns there is garbage on the shelves and a internet order may be needed. But, a great set of rings on the cheep can be had at Walmart = Weaver Quad Locks..Med height will work just fine for you along with a Weaver style rail.
      As shown here..but around $12 at Wallies...http://www.amazon.com/Weaver-1-Inch-Medium-Detachable-Rings/dp/B004NCHB9O

This rail is one of my fav's and reasonable....
