Heres the issue. The space between the rear sight and the action is very short, so you eithe have to go with a small scope like a 2x7 to be behind it or maybe a 3x9x32 to to clear the rear sight. Signalman is gonna tell you to buy a Weaver Grand slam, price but great. I have this scope on an old Marlin Model 60. Works well considering the price. No problems here with it.

You need a short scope not to run into the rear sight , and high rings not to run into the bolt handle.Signalman uses Weaver Grand Slams ,I , being cheaper use this https://www.amazon.com/UTG-10X44-Co...tg+rifle+scope+compact&qid=1582250332&sr=8-12

Based on what I have read on RFC, I should get medium rings for my scope. However, if I bought one of these 11mm dovetail to rail adaptors. Should I buy short rings rather than medium?

That should be pretty easy math. Add the short ring height to the thickness of the adapters and see if it's more or less than the high rings.

I had my LGS mount a Mueller 8-32x44 on my CZ 457 using these 30 mm rings and "laser bore sight". The following day at 50 yards I had it zeroed within ~10 shots. However, the windage adjustment is ~5 clicks from its far left "maximum"! While I didn't expect the windage to fall exactly in the middle of the adjustment range of 40 MOA (320 clicks), I would have expected it to fall in the middle quarter or third of the adjustment range.

Any ideas what could be wrong with the setup that would cause my windage zero to be so far left? Could the scope be somehow misaligned with the barrel? Bad scope? bad rings? Is there some external means by which I could "confirm" the scope and barrel are correctly aligned?
