I've gotten a few from Brownells, made by Marbles I think it is.

      About $5.00 or so IIRC.

      Found em

On one of mine, had to narrow the dovetail a bit, too tight a fit.

      Good luck

The ring height depends upon the base that you intend to use. If you use the new weaver style mount supplied with the rifle, then you will probably need the high rings. If you use an aftermarket base such as the Power Custom, which is much taller than the Weaver TO-9 or the similar Ruger supplied base, then you can get by with the medium rings.

The Burris Sig Zee rings in the silver finish actually do not match up very well with the Ruger silver receiver and scope mount base. They seem to have more of a copper/nickel shade. A little hard to describe, but not the stainless steel/silver look of most other products. They don't look too bad, but definately do not blend well.

Brownell's is the place for the slot blank insert. If you need anything else you might want to throw it in with the order to average out the shipping cost a bit.

      JWA,
Right now it's just a barreled receiver. I have a "donor" 69a on it's way with the #80a rear sight that I'll have no use for.
The receiver is S,L,LR, and I intend to put a scope with tip offs on it.

Couple questions: Which front sight would be correct using the Lyman 57?

Where can I get another plug screw and (probably harder to find) the dovetail blank?
      Couple of answers:

The absolutely "correct" front sight as issued with the 57E would be the 93B "shark fin" sight but the low profile Lyman 17A globe is a very nice match for the 57E and is MUCH cheaper and easier to find as well as being able to change the inserts :bthumb:

The screw threads are common size on the receiver for the 57 and most places stock them such as Brownells, Midway USA, etc. but the shipping will cost you more than the screw. Click on my name and send me an email (not a PM) and I will mail you a pair via cheap regular mail. The rear sight dovetail blank is available from the same sources for about $5 usually. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/sight-parts/front-sight-blanks/marble-slot-blank-prod8820.aspx

      Regards,

I ordered mine from Ruger during their 10/22 day sale

still haven't gotten around to putting it all together...besides needing a silver bolt/charging handle, I'm looking for a barrel band that has a side mounted, conventional, sling swivel like this one

and OP, it looks like you need a blank for that empty rear sight dovetail, before someone cuts themselves on it

I probably won't be home from work until august but I have that exact barrel band and I don't have any use for it. Send me a pm to remind me and if I can find it it's yours.
