Both DIP and Boyd's offer an aftermarket Trigger Guard & Floor Plate for the Savage Mark II rifles. Though they both look very similar, these company's prices seem quite different.

Is there a difference in quality between these two products? Will the DIP Trigger Guard & Floor Plate be a better quality part since it costs more?

I just put an FVSR in a Boyd's Tacticool. Bought the bottom metal kit from DIP http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=323657&CAT=3602

I have a Mueller APV on another rifle and it's really nice. Looking for something different for the FVSR though, just to try something new. I currently have a 40mm objective scope in low rings mounted to the rail that came with it, which is actually an EGW scope base.

Thanks, just ordered the kit from DIP and the tacticool stock from Boyd's. Gonna see if I can paint the stock when it comes in.

Now just need to decide on scope base, rings, and scope.

I know you said that you want to leave it in the "out-of-box" configuration, BUT I would recommend the FV over the BV and then get a Boyd's stock and DIP metal... these are all drop in parts (no gunsmithing) and you will have something a little more unique and to your taste... and the cost will be similar to the BV or just a little more.

That's where I got mine from a couple weeks ago. I put the Tacticool stock on and it went from feeling like a cheap toy to a real gun. I also bought the DIP kit for wood stocks and the trigger guard all together. It has everything you need to work with the new stock:

You could also use the varmint or thumbhole stock as well.

I'm considering ordering the Boyd's Rimfire Hunter for my FVSR along with the DIP kit. I am going to post the items below to make sure that it is all I will need.

Is this all I will need to change the Savage tupperware stock? Is it pretty much a straight up drop in process?

This is the kit for the Mark 11 - Get the heavy bottom metal and the TG - You won't regret replacing the flimsy Savage magazine surround.

There is a difference in the magazine cut out size on the DIP bottom metal...The 93 version suits the 22Magnum & the Mark II version suits the 22LR.
