I'll second the Caldwell. I've used them on my Bergara B14 and currantly on my At-One. They hold very well and require no mods to the stock. . IMHO, having the picatinny rail is the best option for bipod mounting . It allows you to mount any number of QD bipods ( most with 5 or more positions) vs using the 2 position Harris type that uses a stud only. The picatinny variety allows folding forward or aft for stowage/travel and goes on/off in seconds. FWIW, I also have a couple of rifles with ARCA rails but am not a fan for all but PRS/NRL type competitive shooting. Yes, the ARCA system is more versatile but your choices for moderately priced bipods are next to zero. You either need to drop $300+ on a ARCA ready bipod or $75-100 for a ARCA to Picatinny adaptor. ( Yea, even the adaptors are expensive.)
BTW, if you order the Caldwell adaptor from Amazon, look at this UUQ bipod. It's a BEAST weighing in at 25 oz, has little slop and has a very wide stance. It's teh best "clone" bipod i've found to date. I'm using one on my B14R Bergara ( with ARCA adaptor) and Vudoo 360 ( on picatinny spigot mount) rifles now.

I don't shoot NRL but have 3 of these that I use for general bench/prone shooting. These are bigger than your typical V8 Atlas style bipod. 24 oz and a wide stance (10" across minimum at the feet) All 7 positions lock up tight with minimal play. They are rock solid and better than any other sub $100 I've seen.
p.s. I do own Harris and Atlas as well. I just like these regardless of their lack of brand name.

Lots written here in recent months on bipods if you search. Basically, there are two ways to go. You can add a removable Picatinny rail that allows instantaneous on /off of your bipod or you can use a stud mount that takes a bit more time and effort to get your bipod on/off. While I prefer a picatinny type for convenience, I do use both types myself.
From there, you can go with a simple 2 position Harris style or something with more adjustment options like a Atlas /Accu-tak style. ( I say "style" here since you indicate your not looking to spend top dollar.) Again I own both but greatly prefer one that can be set up with 5-7 leg positions vs just the 2.
FWIW, this is my hands down sub $100 bipod ( and I actually prefer it to my $200+ Atlas V8) It comes in both mounting systems but I prefer the convenience of the picatinny set-up. ( The one shown below is a no drill picatinny adaptor that works well.) This is a VERY solid and heavyweight bipod best used for bench / range shooting vs being dragged around in the woods.

I've got the UUQ and love it. Hefty weight, cant adjustment and multi-adjustable. Using it more now than my Harris and you can't go wrong for under $70.

Thanks Tacoma. You pointed out something I forgot to mention. The bipod will be used for benchrest shooting.
