I decided to make a smaller knife than I usually make and this is my take on a backpacker style of knife. I find smaller knives to be a little tricky. It's difficult to get a confortable handle on smaller knives. This one feels good. It's 7 1/2" OAL with a 1/8" O1 blade. The scales are stabilized buckeye and I tried blue spacers for the first time. The pins and bolsters are 416ss.

This knife took awhile to finish but I didn't notice. I found a classic rock station on the radio and I swear they play only the songs I like. Well, they did play that Manfred Mann "wrapped up like a douche" song. Gawd! I hate that one.

I like it!! You do some intricate file-work. Very nice.

Rick

P.S. Hope that station played Norman Greenbaum's song at least once. One of my favorites.

Excellent knife, as usual.

BTW, Its "revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night," referring to a deuce coupe. I always used to think it was the douche thing too, LoL.

That's what happens when you don't have a plan for your file work. You do a little something on one side, do a little something on the other side, and then realize that you have to do that the entire length. Why did I have to come up with a pattern that has soo many little cuts? It gave me a headache.

Blinded by the light is very fitting as that blade sure is bright.
That knife is the quality that I desire but I'm still a long ways away.

O yea I always thought it was douche also and never understood it.

Keep up the good work and thanks for posting all of your blades as it gives me inspiration.

Very Nice. ""I find smaller knives to be a little tricky. "" any time you change from your norm , you get new problems.
Great knife as always.

Gary, Great looking knife! I like the blue spacers. The file work is excellent and the headache part is probably why I don't do it anymore unless a customer wants it. I always liked Manfred Mann's version of Blinded by the light better than Springsteen's and Bruce wrote it. I wonder how many others on here listen to classic rock besides us. Spirit in the sky is another great song and I think the only hit Norman ever had. Great work as usual. I will hopefully be posting my latest group soon.

Very nicely done. I'm a big fan of smaller knives because its what I make, and Art is correct, I have a hell of a time with bigger knives! One thing I have found to help with the handle on shorter knives is to shape the end to be comfortable against the side of the finger and then add a short lanyard which can act as an extension of the handle in a way.

I like your knives even from the start but this is one of your best for me. I LIKE small knives. Most people buy knives that are too large for most uses. This knife you could use for one thing after another all day.

You should get uncomfortable more often!!

LOL,

Springstein originally wrote and recorded it and the original verse was changed by Manfred to "revved up like a deuce" but most misheard it to be "wrapped up like a douche".
In Springsteins 73 debut album his verse was "cut loose like a deuce".

Once I know the words to a song, I can clearly hear them the next time the song comes on. I know it's supposed to be"revved up like a duece". But that song came on again and I really listened. Even knowing what the words are, he still sings "wrapped up like a douche". It's probably the worst song ever right behind We Built This City by Starship.
