Lyman 20X All American

I would appreciate any information
pertaining to the Lyman All American series.

Locally there is a Lyman 20X LNIB or mabe
NIB.
From your experiences, the quality of lens and internals, along with, adjustability, clarity, and resolution
would be helpful to know before
I do any dealing.

It would be fitted to an old 112 Savage in 22/250 or
mabe a 511x/510x Rem.

Regards,

They are great scopes. Be sure it says perma-center, If its an LWBR with turrets all the better.

Very nice scopes... I've had a few.

The Perma Center is definitely more desirable. This was Lyman's trademark phrase for the fairly new techology of the time in scopes with internal adjustments which moved the image as opposed to moving the reticle. This is how scopes of today are still designed with a fixed reticle and a tube with lenses that actually gets moved by the adjustments which in turn of course moves the image. Other brands had their own trademark phrases for this like "Image Moving", "Centered-Reticle", and "Opti-Centered" to name a few. I'm really not certain if there was ever a non-Perma Center 20x made. I've seen plenty of non-PC 2.5x through 6x for sale and I want to say that I've seen a non-PC 10x as well, but all that I've ever actually owned were Perma Centers.

I do have a little spec info for you if it's the LWBR model, which is the only 20x that my manual lists...

Manification_______________ 20x

FOV at 100 yards__________ 5 1/2"

Eye relief________________ 2 1/4"

Adjustments______________1/8" or 1/4"

Length__________________ 17 1/8"

Objective outside diameter___1.840"

Eyepiece outside diameter___1.550"

Tube size_________________ 1"

Weight___________________ 15 1/4 oz.

The available reticles and subtensions at 100 yards are as follows...

Fine crosswire_____________ .175"

Extra fine crosswire________ .125"

1 minute dot______________ 1"

1/2 minute dot_____________1/2"

1/4 minute dot_____________1/4"

Hope this helps... and if you would, please post pics if you get it.
