Daisy Red Ryder - Made in China

Recently, my wife and I have discovered we have a cat problem.
My wife became aware of the problem when she was noticed
a bunch of feathers in the backyard and another concentration on the front lawn.

I realized I had a cat problem while watering the yard.
I stepped in a pile of cat poo that was not well covered-up.
The solution ... a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun.
I wanted, an always ready, repeating BB gun.
A pellet gun was out of the question because I didn't want to harm/kill the felines.
I just want to harass and give the kiddies a sting to remember.
Incidentally, the cocking lever and trigger are not metal.
They appear to be made of a polymer resin - probably glass reinforced.
When I got home an unboxed everything and prepped the rifle for shooting.
I discovered to my great chagrin, my Daisy was not American Made.
And, neither were the BBs.
I think a Crosman 760 maybe in my future.

An American tradition like a Red Ryder BB gun made in China is just not right.........

That ranks right up there with American Flags made in China....

Unhappy It is sad

but at least it was assembled in the USA

Imagine my disappointment when after buying my 1st Harley Davidson motorcycle i found out its of the same caliber as the red rider that you purchased ( assembled in the USA ) with many many parts from china mexico and other even smaller forien contries ..... This really blew my mind when i rode rice the "Harley" crowd looked down there nose at me LOL ..now that i own 1 I dont see what is so great about it hehe .Dont get me wrong i like my bike but it was a case of the pot calling the kettle black for sure.

sry for the rant

MY point is that at least it did create some jobs here (USA) from assembly and thats no more than a famouse motorcycle company can do in this age of make it cheaper so we can sell it and still make money

I have a question is Daisey still an american owned co.?

I started working for Daisy Manufacturing in 1979 in there Shot Dept.
right out of High School ( Pardon the writing skills didn't learn much in school either.)

In the nineteen years of employment with them
I guess I had worked in every department in the plant.

Daisy in the mid 1990's starting going though a major transition
of shutting down their Machining, Plastics, Diecast, Press, ect.,ect.
and just becoming an assembly operation.

Once everything was outsourced they started moving assembly lines to Granby, MO.
that plant was not big enough for all the Paintball, Youth line,
and Powerline assembly so they moved to a Cave in Neosho, MO.

That is were my career ended to make a long story short.

Awwww, I get it now - Chinese Communist Red ... Duuuuu.

At on time, when someone said Chinese ... We all would have thought Commie.
I guess since the U.S. government is borrowing so much money from China.
The Communist part has been conveniently overlooked.

I was checking those out at Wally World awhile back. The Buck, the Grizzly, and the 880 all plainly said made in China on the box, but there was no mention of China on the Red Ryders. You must have gotten a hold of some newer stock.

Another American Icon outsourced to China!

We've got a Red Ryder loaded and ready to go into action sitting within arms length. You don't always need a .22, 12 ga. shotgun or a 380mm pistol. Sometimes a BB will do the trick.

I bought one last year. I did not expect a lot considering the price but, I am disapointed in the quality.
Plastic cocking lever and beer can barrel band.
Does not shoot all that good either.
I would gladly pay a little more for better quality.

It's ironic that the "Harley" crowd looked down on your rice-- every Honda Gold Wing ever built was made in the USA (Ohio)-- they ship all over the world.

At least it was Packaged in the USA.

I mean that's really were the quality is put into a gun.

They have quality in a small jar, and a little is put into each gun just prior to packaging it so it is fresh when you get it.

Sad, So much junk nowadays.

The BBs will almost certainly injure the cats. How about a nice spring-powered airsoft gun and plastic pellets?
