I guess that I'm old school, as I prefer the SV-98. JMO.

Sv-99

You've got to be ****ting me, over $5,000 for a 22LR platform? A BB or biathlon at less than 1/10th to 1/4th the price respectively will shoot nearly or as good. A take down stock does not justify this price at all IMHO.

Looks cool, but it's quite expensive, though they probably won't be exporting any significant numbers. What's a TacOps suppressed .22 cost?

Why is the scope mounted so high, if the stock is detachable or foldable, allowing for easy removal of the bolt? Also, seems to me that if they had extended the rail along the whole length of the receiver, if not longer, it could accommodate a greater number of optics combinations. Lastly, the synthetic stock looks like cheap plastic, and doesn't seem to incorporate an aluminum chassis or bedding block of any kind.

Scope rail and height aside, I think the 1st generation is the best-looking of the bunch.

Thanks for the post!

Sir ... none will be exported to the USA for use by private citizens.
However, it is legal for the U.S. military, police forces
.. and animal control departments (federal, state, county, city).

Military equipment is always expensive.
I suspect the stated price is an inflated MSRP - 3,407.93 USD.
The final negotiated contract price per unit, most likely,
.. is/was considerably lower to the Russian military.

With the exception of the experimental synthetic stock SV-99
.. these are bona fide sniper rifles.
As such, their importation into the USA for/by private citizens is illegal.
However, a civilian legal, replica, version(s) of the SV-99 may soon be in the offing.
