Alls Quiet On The Russian Front

Alls Quiet On The Russian Front

Yes, I've noticed the same thing.
Getting ready to go to work right-now (2046hrs).

Didn't work any overtime yesterday because all (statewide)
TDCJ facilities are on lock-down.

No prisoner movement allowed.

As a result, fewer guards are needed to maintain control.
As such, no over-time is authorized.

So, I only worked my regular shift.

Why? The news has reported that a prisoner on death row had a cell phone.
Apparently, he was calling state officials and was issuing death threats.

Two weeks prior to an election, could be embarrassing for the party in-control.

Maybe in the morning some over-time might be available.

Doing what?
Frisking and searching incoming and outgoing TDCJ personnel.

Ironic isn't it!
Security Managers supervising Security Labor to scrutinize TDCJ personnel.

Last night when my wife and I returned home from a movie and a restaurant supper, there was a small but heavy package on our front porch from Champion's Choice. Inside was a brick of Federal 711b, 200 rounds of CCI Standard Velocity plus 100 rounds each of RWS Subsonic HP, SK Match, Lapua Center-X and Eley Match EPS.

I had planned to go to the range today and do some testing with my Ural-2 and maybe my scoped Vostok CM-2. Sadly, the wind was up and it blew all day. As I write this it's raining and supposed to rain most of tomorrow. But, if the wind and rain let up tomorrow, I'll head for the range.

Natasha misses comments from her sister rifle owners too. She is waiting herself for a time and place for a nice stone bench rest and sandbags and a 100 yard target.
She aims to please.....

I will soon be in the process of sending my CM-2 to a competition stock maker to have a competition bench rest stock made for it. I wanted something other than an Anschutz to shoot iron sight benchrest with. I will post a thread once I get it back and finished. Im thinking mid January

Just Got Back from Odessa

I've been back from Odessa since 3:00PM.
There hasn't been much activity on our forum.

So I've spent sometime at:
General
Rimfire Community Forum
bailing out the Automakers?
GunsAmerica notice! Sent to me.
An interesting forum.
However, very time consuming, emotionally taxing and compelling.

Might be worth your while to participate.

It is a great time to buy a new car.
That is why my wife and I were in Odessa ... looking at some Lincoln's.

We have a 2007 Mercury Grand Marque that is 18 months old.
Well, my baby is no-longer in love with her Marque.
Time for a new car ... some excellent deals are available.
For us, it was the Ford employee pricing plan that was the attraction.

We tried. But, as I had anticipated ... we were up-side-down by too much.
Even still, we could have driven home in an new 2009 Lincoln MKS.
Ford was willing to re-finance us at 5.9%. Our current loan is 5.8%.
But, the payments would have been too high for common sense to consider.

If only ... I can find someone to take-over payments ... on a vehicle
with approximately 10,000 mile and installments for 3 1/2 years before the car is paid-off.

I think it might be possible to do.
My next project.
