CM2 Front Sight Removal

Log in to see fewer ads
Recently picked up older Vostock CM from CDNN followed by newer CM2 from MT Guns. Did a search, which I have found others removing the front sight to their newer CM2s but could not find out what steps they took. I removed the set screw, heated up the sight base and whacked it a bit with a rubber mallet. Didn't budge it at all. Is this the method used for those of you who have removed their front sights? Thanks.....

Welcome to RFC.
My frnt. sight was really loose when I bough mine.
But there is a set screw you have loosen.

One RFC member had to use a heat gun until it started to smoke.
Then took a 2X4 scrap piece of wood & a few wackes.
There is some kind of epoxy you have to loosen up.
I would go slow with the heat gun or tourch my self.
Good luck.

Thumbs up Thanks MS!

Suspected I needed to heat it up more or as was stated..."Smokin", and a good whack or whacks! Thanks again for the info!
