455 butterknife bolt handle?

Does anyone know if there is a butterknife bolt handle available for a CZ-455 .22lr?

Preferably stainless, but blued would work.

Anarchy Outdoors makes a swept bolt handle, maybe an email campaign could urge them to make a butter knife bolt handle. I know I'd buy a couple.

This question pops up every so often and nobody has been able to name a source. I would love to have one for my 455 FS.

I would like one as well for my fs. Would give it a vintage euro look.

Talking Butterknife bolt handles

I've got 3-452s (FS, Lux & Ultra Lux) with "hog back" stocks I'd love to have butterknife bolt handles on.

I emailed Anarchy Outdoors, maybe you guys should too. If enough of us express an interest, perhaps they'll do a limited run at a minimum.

I'd love a well-executed butterknife for my 452 FS too.

Here is the reply from Anarchy Outdoors. They answered my email in 2 hours.....

"We donít currently have plans for anything like that but I can definitely put it on our future build list to be discussed for a future build."

I got a very similar response. Like the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If enough people let them know they would buy one, perhaps they would do a limited run at the least.

Barring that, a person could always buy one of their steel swept bolt handles, the butter knife handle from MidwayUSA and "Frankenstein" something together. A simple matter of sawing-off the swept handle and TIG welding the butter knife piece on. A little time with some filing, grinding, an acetylene torch and some case hardening paste, followed by a lot of polishing and finally hot tank bluing...

I figure less than $100 in donor parts and materials (that I don't already have), followed by a month or two of spare weekend time might result in an amateur project that I could be proud of. I guess I won't know until I try.

Edit: Midway doesn't carry a Mannlicher style bolt handle anymore. I managed to find one on eBay (just search all of eBay for Mannlicher bolt handle), and got it ordered (seller had 740 transactions with 100% positive rating). The project begins.

Somewhere I posted some pics of my 455 with a butter knife handle I made. I can't seem to find the original post.

Take another picture and post it up!

I've also ordered another 455 bolt handle from CZ just in case this project goes horribly wrong. I've been getting in some practice with the TIG torch while waiting for parts to arrive. I'll probably source the bluing out to a local guy that has blued parts for me in the past, and does exemplary work.

Additionally, I've been toying with the idea of some rudimentary engraving on the handle. I've been following a guy on YouTube named Uri Tuchman that makes it look pretty easy. I've been practicing, and I feel confident enough to attempt a simple outline filled with dimples. We'll see if I have the courage to take the project that far when the time comes.

It reminds me of a hound dog with long sagging ears.

They're often seen on Steyr rifles (at least in my limited experience), assuming you're referring to what others call "spoon bolt."
