wolf match extra made by Eley?

Sorry if this has been discussed- no luck find info on RFC or elsewhere online.

I just received an order of Wolf Match Extra from a distributor in NC; according to the box, it was made in England by Eley, and in fact, case heads are stamped with an E, the box is plastic with an Eley-like sliding top and the lot number format is the same as Eley.

Everything I've read indicated that WMT, WME, SK Standard Plus and SK Rifle Match are made in the same facility, on the same line, by Lapua in Germany. I entered the lot number of the WME in the Eley lot analyzer- lot not found.

Has anyone compared the Lapua and Eley versions?

thx

Wolf was a private label for SK Standard + and Match. They must have lost the right to rebadge the SK when SK started to sell their product here.
I guess they cut a deal with Eley. I wonder which product of theirs they are putting their name on now? I hope itís Club at a good price. Thanks for the heads up.👍

Wolf and SK ammo made in Germany.

I've found them very comparable to similarly priced Eley ammos.

at one time wolf 22 lr ammo was made by Lapua. it was the same quailty as sk ammo. then lapua stopped making 22 lr ammo for wolf. it looks like wolf got someone else to make 22 lr ammo for them. thw wolf/lapua ammo had a lube like coating on the bullet. what type of bullet lube does the new wolf have? just found it over at outdoor limited and looking at it i can see it is made by eley and not by lapua. same price as the old lapua made ammo. well if you buy some you will have to recheck your sights because it is different brand and lube. now i would like to know what type of eley it is.

beelu-- Can you post a pic of this ammo? This is the first time I have heard about SK being made by Eley--- Would love to see that packaging if you can post pictures. I was under the impression it was actually made by Lapua.

sk is made by lapua. at one time wolf 22 lr was made by lapua/sk. but by looking at the picture and reading the box over at outdoor limited.com it looks like wolf is now made by eley.

The market speaks - check the photo from an online retailer's ad noting Eley's name and "made in England", accompanied by this blurb: "Wolf Match Target 22LR is now produced at the world renowned Eley ammunition plant in England. Please note that if you have shot this in the past you may have different results now vs the previous ammo from the German SK Lapua plant, although we expect Eley to be just as exceptional."

Pictures....mehhhh. BUT, graphics on the Eley version are exactly the same as on the WMT packaging. The bottom of the plastic box has Eley's web address molded in and, as noted in my original post, an E imprint on the case head. And, as Frankmako noted, there are pics available on the Outdoor Limited website (https://www.outdoorlimited.com/Produ...Code=wpa22xtra). I bought it from them.

Regarding lube: The WMT I bought (from Outdoor limited as someone noted) does not have the uber-oily lube that the SK Rifle match, SK std +, and WMT has. So, no paper towels needed after loading a mag but will have to see how much difference the lack of lube makes.

I plan to shoot side by side with WMT, WME and SK Standard Plus on Wednesday if the weatherman is telling the truth. And yes, I will shoot 20 or so of each before starting to pay close attention to groups.

An interesting "Eley" find beelu.

It seems as though after doing an advance search here on RFC and adding "1 year and older" to the search pattern that SK production of Wolf and American sales of both Wolf and SK must have begun better than 13 years ago.

One site on the web has Wolf starting in 2005 although I'm thinking another saying Wolf started in 1996 is likely more accurate.

How much?

Edit: Seems like a fair price .
