Running low on CCI high velocity ammo. Have plenty of target ammo (like SK Rifle Match, Standard +: Norma Match, CCI Standard Velocity, etc.) from my bench rest shooting. Also have a lot of CCI Stinger, CCI Tactical: Aguila Super Velocity, etc.
Question is what ammo in the lowest velocity do you find cycles in your rifle (i.e., lowest velocity that works)? Also what ammo in the 1400+ velocity works and what in the even 1600+ velocity may work but is too high for the gun and may damage it. Like rifle too much to risk stressing it too much.
My recent built (few years old) did not like Winchester Super X when I tried it. Would not feed reliably. Seems to work flawless with federal or Remington bulk ammo.
Mine runs everything except Remington (seems like every Remington ammo) and Winchester super x. Everything else from sub sonic to hot loads run great. If you’re looking for cheap ammo that will shoot decent, Blazer, and Federal bulk seem to hold pretty decent groups.
Mine, also from 1967 will function with every ammo I have ever tried. I have shot a lot of various SV ammo for fun, and a lot of Federal 36 grain bulk pack for hunting.
