Welcome aboard! The more info, the better. Is it new or used? Does it have a mag disconnect? Has anyone modified anything on the pistol?

sometimes it's as simple as the grip screws are too tight

I gave this Browning to a very good friend and it was missing some parts, He got a parts break down and ordered and replace all the missing parts, Firing pin, spring for firing pin, sear bar and a few others. the gun is around 10 yrs old now.
Thanks in advance

For some reason I think this buckmark had trigger over travel limits, could that cause a problem if it was limiting the trigger travel?

Too much over travel removed prevents firing. Too much pre travel removed can prevent resetting.

Did he insert the U-shaped spring for trigger bar? is the trigger bar fouling the RH grip? Recoil spring rod rough or super smooth?

So many more things to check......

He said that he checked that the grips were not hitting anything and had tried setting the trigger over travel both ways. Seems odd that taking the clip out resets the trigger, what does the clip hit that could cause that?
Thanks

I forget when Browning started using mag disconnects. Does this pistol have one?

For testing purposes () remove the mag disconnect and give it a try.

What does the mag disconnect look like. I don't see one mention on any parts list. could you show what one looks like. It almost has to be something like that because you have to pull the mag and put it back in to make it fire.
Thanks

The mag disconnect is a wire about 3" long on 1 side of the grip.

Just unhook it.

Thanks again Rick67 and all the others that helped out. Removing the disconnect rod worked and my friend is happy.
Thanks again for without your help I would have never figured that one out.
