Challenger grip removal.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the one piece grip on my Challenger. I removed the screw and it will slide back and forth and up and down some but will not completely come off?

It has been a long time since Iíve taken a one piece grip off of a Belgium Challenger or Medalist. As I recall, you have to swing it, or ďrockĒ it in order to remove it. It will come off easily if rotated properly.

Donít force it.

Check to see if there is a YouTube video.

Challenger unloaded. Rack the slide. Safety on. Magazine out. Rotate bottom of grip to the rear slightly with the pivot point top rear just under the safety. Then pull down and back. Go easy. May then have to wiggle a bit as you describe. Good luck.

No really heavy force should be necessary getting grips on or off. They can be a little sticky. If the grip catches when reinstalling them (grip is only short way from home) it may be necessary to reach in through the grip frame and press out on the grip slightly to help the inside of the grip "step over" the wall of the slot that the mag button travels in. This is more prevalent with Novadur grips.
