Best Current Deal on New Golden Boy?

Log in to see fewer ads
Hi Folks,

Just wondering, does anyone have any tips on where to get the best deal on a new Golden Boy about now? Lowest price I've seen is on gunbroker, which was $409 with $25 shipping. My FFL charges $30, so that brings it to $465 (no tax). I can walk into Dicks' and get one for $479, plus tax (but I hate spending money there). Planning to check my LGS this week, but any ideas? It's a Christmas present so needs to be NIB.

Thanks!

N

Thanks - that is the best deal I've seen. Someone was selling them on one of the auction sights (can remember which one) for $389 a month or so back. Should have grabbed one - but the shipping would still probably bring it above the Grabagun price. Ordering one now.

Edit - total on my credit card came to $412.97. Not bad. Hope it gets here before Christmas!

shows the .22LR golden boy at everyday price of 400.00. I think walmart has them about the same.

My local Rural King had them for $400 and a 12% rebate, if you have those stores in your area. Basically, you're going to have to look local to you to avoid shipping and transfer fees.

My Walmart has them for $399 and they normally have one or more in stock. If they don't have one in stock, I think they can order one for you. It saves FFL fees that you will incur if you order one and have it shipped in. I've bought 3 rifles and shotguns from Walmart and everything went smoothly. A manager walks the gun to the parking lot before they give it to you.

You guys are lucky to live in civilized places. Here in the Communist Nation of New York, the Walmarts don't stock much (if anything) in the way guns. Bud's, IIRC, will not ship firearms to NY. I could have saved a few $ at Academy though, should have waited, but it's ordered now.

OP.....

....seems to me that I saw prices below $400, in the $369/$379 range a couple weeks ago...but, being an old phart, can't remember where.

Re: NY state regs, just move. I moved from the phenomenally screwed up state of IL to GA about 30 years ago and never looked back. Return to visit family and friends, but that is it.

Here in Illinois I have yet to see a gun in a walmart.
A limited supply of ammo, yes, but never a gun.

Believe me, if I could move, I would. But my work is here, and also the kids are still young and in schools here. We will probably move once they're in college, but most likely to Connecticut, which isn't a lot better (and will probably get worse). We do at least have a Dick's nearby that keeps a good stock of ammo and shooting supplies. I hate going there, but I won't turn down a box of 325 Federal .22 LR for $16.99.... Guns, I order online for delivery to a local FFL.

I don't know where you live, but Academy has them currently at $399.99. Black Friday they were $349, if I remember correctly.

Love it kere in Maine!

Faced the move/retirement question a couple of years ago... wife's family in upstate NY, love it there- but property taxes/gun laws/politics dictated otherwise. NO regrets living in Winterport, Maine. Lucky enough to have just picked up a job in a new gun shop just getting started as well!
Life is GREAT!
